I thought I would collect the tweets of the move from D.C. to Birmingham in one place, just because they kept me entertained when I was completely exhausted. In rereading them, I realize how tired I really was, because half of them make absolutely no sense…

• While the CDT zone SAYS it's almost 11pm, my EDT zone body can feel the midnight and then some from the trip/packing. > 
• Destination reached (Birmingham). Beyond exhaustion. Considering a challenge to Rip Van Winkle's record… >
• Music off. #pens / #canes game on XM until I get home. >
• Who else has an Alabama song for me?? Unleash 'em. Hahaha. >

As we crossed the GA state line, dad called and started in with "Devil Went Down to Georgia." This time, I sang along. >

I entered TN and my dad called to sing "Rocky Top." It's now officially the shortest conversation I've ever had with him. #fanfail #rolltide >

Sorry XM. You got bumped for the iPod. I needed to sing and wake up. > 

I'm so much more tired than I thought. Driving is a challenge. Help me Jesus. Help me Oprah. Help me Tom Cruise. > 

Somehow XM 90s on 9 isn't half as fun and hilarious without @sweetestofdekes in the car. > 

20 mins in and my left leg is already asleep. This can't be good. >

Having breakfast at one of my favorites, Mrs. Rowe's before I hit the road… Named one of the best breakfasts by @Southern_Living! Holla! >

Sadly, I'm hitting the road tonight. At least I can hear the #Hawks / #Wings game while I drive. >

In total sadness, about to go interwebs-less, and cable-less until I get to Alabama tomorrow night. Thankfully, I still have an iPhone. > 

Up and at 'em early today… in the home stretch for packing. It's do or die time. #packingtomovetotallysucks >

  Name's Emily, and I'm geeked out by history. Don't be fooled, the 'Vulcan' is a Roman mythological god and now historical figure adopted by my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Since my fair hometown has deep (and dark) historical roots, I pay homage to dear Vulcan through the namesake on the site (and strangely enough I share his torrid and tragic romantic life).
