inaugural moment

Seeing that I fell ill and was coughing a little too much to brave the cold, I decided to opt for the inauguration from the confines of the heat and my papasan at my hizzouse. I'd take the couch, except my friend Marcus, editor of the Chicagoist, has adapted it into his temporary HQ for a few days as his covers the inauguration for the Windy City.

  Name's Emily, and I'm geeked out by history. Don't be fooled, the 'Vulcan' is a Roman mythological god and now historical figure adopted by my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Since my fair hometown has deep (and dark) historical roots, I pay homage to dear Vulcan through the namesake on the site (and strangely enough I share his torrid and tragic romantic life).
