guilty pleasure

I have an embarrassing admission to make. Here it is…

I'm completely addicted to E! Channel's "Snoop Dogg's Fatherhood." I love it, and I can watch it for hours when it is on. I think I like seeing a hard-core rapper be a big teddy bear as a dad. It's cute, actually.

Another admission is that I like to watch MTV's "Run's House" as well. Why? Well, mainly because Rev. Run cracks me up when he makes his crazy noises and singing songs. Hilarious stuff. Seriously.

And, both families love to eat. And, while I love "The Cosby Show" deep down, "this ain't the Huxtables." And I love every minute of the new shows.

more on global warming

As I stated the other day, the weather here in Alabama is absolutely insane, and it's driving me up the wall. Here's this week's forecast:

Anyone see a problem with this??? By the weekend, we'll be expecting a snow/ice mix. We go from tornado watches to freeze warnings.

How do people really believe that global warming doesn't exist?

a bit of gloating

I'm sorry. I just have to do this. I'm THRILLED at the fact that LSU beat Ohio State for the BCS National Championship. I believe that makes the fourth national championship for the SEC in BCS history (Tennessee in 1999, LSU in 2004, Florida in 2005, and LSU in 2007). Do I normally cheer for LSU? Good heavens, no. I hate LSU, and Les Miles for that matter. But, if an SEC team can shut up a conference like the Big 10, I'm a happy camper.

Nothing beats the sound of the SuperDome cheers of "SEC! SEC! SEC!" Because, truth be told, and it has continually remained truth: the SEC is the best conference in the nation. Take it from Kirk Herbstreit or from the BCS National Championship… the SEC is #1 in the land. Geaux SEC!

robots

CNN did a segment about the emergence of robots this year as practical gifts. I couldn't help but think about the skit that SNL did YEARS ago about Old Glory Robot Insurance. So, just because, I tried to find a clip. But, there's more than just that… some weird robot mess before. Here's the clip, but jump to 1:16 to see the commercial.

Robots eat old people's medicine for fuel.

weather

January 7, 2008 · Posted in Ins-and-Outs, Political Slants · Comment

Today is January 7… It's the middle of winter. And in Alabama, today's high is 72, with a low of 53.

How in the world can people NOT see that global warming is happening right in front of our faces? How can you ignore stuff like this. Seriously, people. Wake up and feel the heat… in JANUARY!

for the new year…

Apologies for being a lazy muse… But, there aren't any excuses except that I've really enjoyed the time off from school and work.

In thinking about 2008, there are always resolutions to make. I've made 2 for the time being. But, more than anything, I have a wishlist for the year, mainly involving that our country and its citizens become better examples toward humanity. Here are the lyrics:

Sunday morning, I heard the preacher say
Thou shall not kill
I don't wanna hear nothing else about killing
And that it's God's will

'Cause our children are watching us
They put their trust in us
They're gonna be like us
So let's learn from our history
And do it differently

I hope, for more love, more joy and laughter
I hope, we'll have more than we'll ever need
I hope, we'll have more happy ever after
I hope, we can all live more fearlessly
And we can lose all the pain and misery
I hope, I hope

Oh, Rosie, her man he gets too rough
That's all she can say, is he's a good man
He don't mean no harm
He was just brought up that way

But our children are watching us
They put their trust in us
They're gonna be like us
It's okay for us to disagree
We can work it out lovingly

I hope, for more love, more joy and laughter
I hope, you'll have more than we'll ever need
I hope, you'll have more happy ever after
I hope, you can all live more fearlessly
And you can lose all the pain and misery
I hope, I hope

There must be a way to change what's going on
No I don't have all the answers

Happy 2008 to you and yours. May the year bring all your hopes and wishes.
