news at the newseum

It’s bad enough that the Newseum was supposed to be opened this past winter of 2006. However, it seems that series of unfortunate events will keep postponing the opening.

It’s horrible that this has happened. But, it has been quieter in Penn Quarter with construction halted. Therefore, I’m looking forward to the day it’s actually opened and not still being built, as it has been underway for about 2 years. I will say that it is blocking much of the beautiful Penn Avenue line-of-sight… it sticks out and is incredibly gaudy. And, it’s all glass.

But, seriously, naked? We’re all still wondering how that conspired.

  Name's Emily, and I'm geeked out by history. Don't be fooled, the 'Vulcan' is a Roman mythological god and now historical figure adopted by my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. Since my fair hometown has deep (and dark) historical roots, I pay homage to dear Vulcan through the namesake on the site (and strangely enough I share his torrid and tragic romantic life).
