Emily, at the risk of being redundant, I will leave the same comment with you that I did with Kathy:

"I may have found some clues to Erwin’s mindset by checking his bio on the Senate website. It says, “He and his wife, Shelia Joyce Erwin, are the parents of two children: Andrew and Jonathan. So!! He doesn’t have a daughter to be concerned about and when he is cavorting on Goat Hill he may leave Sheila at home locked into a chastity belt and he has the only key tucked away in his twisted drawers. His “B.A. degree from Southwestern Bible College and an M.A. degree from Dallas Seminary probably explain a bit more. All of that theological training and his present church activities didn’t seem to teach him to practice “total abstinence or to keep his trousers on and his fly zipped up though."

On a different topic: Being new at reading blogs I haven't found a way on yours to contact you, and if you are interested in Alabama government and/or politics, I would like to be able to email you items from time to time that I wouldn't want to post here, or that I can't find a suitable topic to comment on to which they might apply. Feel free to email me, and to delete this paragraph from your blog.

Erwin is just what you called hiim: a nutjob. That man opens his mouth and shoves his foot in more times than I'm able to count. It's embarrassing really, to have him around.

I'm very glad the threshold has been raised. Here's hoping it will bring about some change in the tax structure. Those folks benefitting from the threshold will definitely gain if a new Constitution will issue a less regressive one.

Thanks for the link! Yes, Sen. Erwin is just the epitome of open-mindedness and respect for the rights of women...

I'm pleased about the increase in the income tax threshold. It would be nice if the Legislature would consider indexing it so we don't have to fight this battle for years into the future, but that might take too much forethought. Heads could explode.
